Meet Our Team

Yes, the guy in the picture is me. My name is George Belt and I’m the Pipeline Manager here at Meridian Home Mortgage Corporation.

I was born in Hampton, Virginia, but lived much of my life in Maryland. I graduated from Owings Mills High School in 1982 and now live in Stewartstown, PA.

I have two siblings, a sister, Beverly, and my brother Glenn who is the president of Meridian Home Mortgage.

I really like attending sporting events, especially with my son, Matt. I enjoy taking him to his baseball and football practices and supporting him at all his games. My son and I often partake in fundraising activities. I help him and his friends get the money needed to do the special projects they are involved with.

I’ve been assisting consumers with real estate transactions since 2003 and I’m a licensed Mortgage Originator as required by my home state of Maryland. I’ve been a member of the National Association of Brokers since I began working in real estate. I agree with the stringent guidelines they set forth. I always participate in the annual 20 hour educational course to keep my skills sharp. I’m also a member of the Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers.

I really enjoy working as the Pipeline Manager at Meridian. It gives me an opportunity to use my mortgage experience to move loan applications through the underwriting process efficiently for the company and our customers. My team and I meet daily to discuss each and every customer’s current loan status and I will personally solve any problems if needed. It’s wonderful when an application can go straight from underwriting to the closing department in a single day!
